Hollow Creek's Gypsy is awarded the first qualifying leg in an AKC event in the history of the breed. Hollow Creek's Decoy was also earned a leg on the same day at the event. Both dogs were in the Junior Hunter class at the Stockton English Springer Spaniel Training Club's Spaniel Hunt Test in Oroville, CA. Event results are found here.

The AKC Board of Directors has reviewed the Boykin Spaniel's request to be admitted into the AKC to compete in Hunting and Companion Dog Events and voted to allow the breed to compete in AKC events. The Boykin Spaniel will be eligible to begin entering AKC Spaniel Hunt Tests to be held after January 1, 2006. They will be able to earn competition titles in Obedience, Rally, Tracking and Agility after July 1, 2006. To learn how to register your dog for AKC competitions, please visit the AKC website.
